Saying "Well done" to Learners with your "Avatar Self"!
Personalize your teaching with an avatar from Bitmoji!
Would you agree? Personalized learning is here to stay! One way to do this is to have a teacher image and presence in the course.
But…do you want your students to “see you” without you actually including your picture?
Make your communications to students interesting, engaging, and personal by using the visually interesting avatars from the FREE Bitmoji mobile app. Students can also create avatars for their introduction posts and beyond.
Go to the app store on your phone and download the free Bitmoji app, create an account, and then make the avatar look like yourself. Download a bunch of (appropriate) images for future use.
Students can also use the Bitmoji app to make an avatar of themselves for their profile picture.
Caveat: Use your best judgment when deciding which avatar images are appropriate!
Bitmoji also has many positive feedback images.
For accessibility, add alt text (descriptive language) to the images used.
An article from Faculty Focus on this topic is here. They point out Bitmoji is also a tool in the Chrome browser.
Examples of Bitmojis for positive feedback are below.
This avatar image normalizes teaching and learning from home and lets students know you are on the “other side of the computer” ready to help.
This Approved avatar image is a good one when you don’t have a lot of time to approve something but want to let your learners know you are recognizing they submitted something well done. You can also add feedback, as well, of course.
I love online teaching and learning.
